This seminar aims to gather researchers and practitioners to share ideas, promote research collaboration, publication and grant application and to conduct research on UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The seminar will focus on elements of consumption and production and will explore how research at Newcastle University can contribute towards achieving SDG12. Three main targets of SDG12 that emphasise the role of businesses and organisations will serve as the themes for the seminar discussions on sustainable supply chain management, promoting sustainable consumption and ensuring responsible production.
SDG12 Responsible Consumption and Production targets for discussion:
- Target 2 - By 2030, achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources
- Target 6 - Encourage companies, especially large and transnational companies, to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycle
- Target 8 - By 2030, ensure that people everywhere have the relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature
